Our mission is to educate and open doors for well qualified students from a limited number of participating US colleges and universities through a relatively short, intensive period of study under the guidance of Oxford tutors to the same standard and in the same manner as matriculated Oxford undergraduates, while providing a high level of support and pastoral care.
Housing and Meals
HOUSING is organized in high quality accommodation which is superior to normal student standard, with British students as far as possible, and located close to the city centre.
There are no shared bedrooms, all students have their own, fully furnished bedrooms and share a modern well equipped kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. Cleaning supplies are included at no extra cost. All properties are professionally managed by housing agents and regularly inspected by OPUS.
All housing locations are equipped with printers. All houses include landline phones and the cost of the phone line rental is included. Internet access is available through the Oxford colleges at no extra cost. Students may also elect to set up high speed internet access from their house at nominal cost. Students participating for more than two terms are entitled to housing during the intervening vacation period at no extra cost.
All students are eligible to receive a cell phone from OPUS for their use while on the Program free of charge. Students only pay for any outgoing calls which they make, for which the cost is nominal. Incoming calls to cell phones are completely free of charge.
Meals
OPUS DOES NOT charge for meals. As associate members of their Oxford college, students are entitled to dine in college and pay for each meal individually without the overhead of a meal plan. The cost is considerably lower than in most US colleges and meals eaten ‘in hall’ cost about £420 ($630) per term. All housing options also include a fully equipped kitchen where students may prepare their own meals.
